About Jessica Gochnour

Jessica Gochnour is an award winning, published, Burley, Idaho photographer who specializes in agriculture and portrait photography.

Jessica grew up in North Salt Lake, Utah and attended BYU-Idaho, where she earned her bachelors degree in communication, with emphasis in journalism and visual communication and a minor in marketing.

Jessica was gifted her first camera, a Nikon D70, when she was in junior high. Her first images captured bison, bears, moose, guysers and sunsets in the wild and free landscapes of Yellowstone National Park.

In high school, Jessica fell in love with photographing sports with her high school yearbook team, where she was the photo editor through her senior year.

As a freshman in college, Jessica pushed her photography skills while working for The Scroll, BYU-Idaho’s student-run news organization. The rigorous world of news requires excellent visual storytelling skills as well as rapid production. Jessica won several awards for her coverage on campus, including documentation of the global covid-19 pandemic, various school sports and activities, and LDS general conference.

Now, she applies her vast photography experience to portrait sessions, weddings, elopements, and commercial photography.
