This was my first day after session and I loved the freedom to choose where and when to shoot. During a wedding, you’re at the mercy of the location, time is limited and everyone is rushed. The light may be awesome or it may blow. The bride and groom might be overjoyed and excited or distracted and anxious. The day after is simply awesome. We chose the time, the location (bride and groom are big hikers, which ahem, you may notice in one of the shots below) and the newly married couple were bathing in the overflowing joy and happiness from the day before.

Amanda and Jeff, you guys have spoiled me with your beautiful wedding, wonderful ideas and incredible ease with having us capture you. Congratulations again!

Check out Stephanie’s images from the day after, too!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of capturing Amanda and Jeff’s wedding day. They were an amazing couple and I truly felt so lucky to be capturing them! Later in the week, I’ll share my favorites from the day after session. Today, I have the wedding day with all the little details. Amanda and her friends and family pulled together these details. I was in love with the feather boutonnieres and paper corsages!

Congratulations Amanda and Jeff!

PS. You know you’re at a fun wedding when the sisters of the bride dress up like nuns and sing!

PPS. Check out my friend Stephanie’s beautiful work from Amanda + Jeff’s day.

The Secret to a Great Family Session

June 8, 2011

As I prep for a session I have random thoughts running through my head: nail the exposure, find the sweet light, pray they haven’t cut the grass… But more important than any of these thoughts, I hope for a good connection with the people I’m capturing. When I first meet a client, I do my [...]

An East Bay Family Session, with Grandparents!

June 1, 2011

Quite often, I end up doing family sessions that include grandparents. I love the energy and warmth that come from these sessions. Typically, Grandma and Grandpa are in town briefly and our session is a time for them to just love their grandchildren while I snap away. While I know the intention may be for [...]

May Flowers

May 25, 2011

Spring is in the air (despite today’s gloomy weather here in the San Francisco bay). I recently spent the weekend in flower gardens around the bay area. The flowers are in full bloom and there was a bit of spring fever in the air. These girls are extra special to me – they are my [...]

Welcome to My New WebBlog!

May 10, 2011

I just finished updating my website. I stole 15 minutes here and 30 minutes there over the last several weeks. I tested my limited understanding of html and was reminded of that one java in design class I took my last semester of college. (Not that I was able to actually use it, just you know, [...]

Something New

April 20, 2011

I don’t know anything about horses and quite honestly, I am rather intimidated by their size and strength. Still, I have always found the connection others have to horses fascinating. To me, they are huge and powerful. To others, they are gentle and comforting, like an old friend. Over the summer, I discovered that a [...]

In the New Year (Hello 2011!)

January 1, 2011

There isn’t anything better than the promise of a new year. I know I’ve been missing a bit from this little blog of mine. With the freshness of 2011, I’ve thought a bit about how I want this coming year to go. My plan for 2011 is to be small. I know that sounds kind [...]

Gorgeous Greens | Danville Family and Child Photographer

November 17, 2010

Admittedly, the landscape this time of year (which ironically is the busiest) is not my favorite. Starting in September, the fields nearby look tired and overgrown. Or worse, mowed down. I begin daydreaming of January and February when the fields will be fresh green and the mustard flowers will start popping up. So, when I [...]

Contagious Laughter | San Ramon Family Photographer

November 10, 2010

So, as far as good-natured kids go, I had the easiest session a few weeks ago. The kids pretty much couldn’t stop laughing. Seriously, I barely would say anything and the giggles would start. And before I knew it, I was giggling, too. I never had a session before where I was trying to think [...]
